Sewing Machine Gifted to Shukhi’s Mother

Hasn’t been very long when Shukhi from Brahmanbaria had to live by begging from door to door that today, ‘1/24 Social Movement’ has gifted a sewing machine to Shukhi’s mother.

The sewing machine was handed over to Shukhi’s mother by Mr. Ayub Khan, Principal, Shorail Pilot Girls’ High School. Besides the principal, M. A. Karim, teacher and local reporter of Noya Digonto, Nazma Begum, social reformer, and other respected teachers of the school were present on the program.

The news “Shukhi lives on alms, but wants to be a doctor” on the Noya Digonto online news portal by the reporter Mr. M. A. Karim from Brahmanbaria, in the month of February, stroke the volunteers of the ‘1/24 Social Movement’ hard.

The ‘1/24 Social Movement’ team along with its founder, Mr. Mohammad Shahab Uddin, Assistant Professor, Management Department, University of Chittagong immediately decided to help Shukhi in every possible way to help reach her goal.

The ‘1/24 Social Movement’ team led by dear Shahab Sir, visit Brahmanbaria and admit Shukhi and her siblings to school and promise to bear all their educational expenses for life. The founder, Mr. Shahab Uddin was deeply disheartened by the miserable condition of Shukhi’s house and overall lifestyle. He promised Shukhi’s mother a sewing machine and it was escorted to her later by two ‘1/24 Social Movement’ representatives.
