A day-long training workshop has been held by the Training and Technology Transfer Unit of Bangladesh Forest Research Institute on seedling uplifting and insect and disease control in the nursery at the training workshop institute.
Under the chairmanship of Mr. Mohammad Anisur Rahman, the convener of the Training and Technology Transfer Unit, the workshop was inaugurated by the chief guest Mr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam, departmental head of the administrative division. The workshop was attended by 30 members of ‘1/24 Social Movement’. The founder of ‘1/24 Social Movement’ – Mr. Mohammad Shahab Uddin, Assistant Professor, Management Department, University of Chittagong acted as the coordinator of the trainees.
Training on nursery development and management, choosing the right tree as per the place and gardening was given by the forest officer Mrs. Nusrat Begum, Silviculture research department.
Training on seedling uplifting techniques and nurturing them was given by the research officer Mr. Abdullah Al-Masud Mojumder, Silviculture research department.
Training on the management of insect control and disease control was given by officer Dr. Mohammad Ahsanur Rahman, forest conservation department.
In the end, as a part of the training workshop, the trainees were taken to visit the nurseries of the Silviculture Research Unit.
