1/24 Social Movement enters third year of establishment
On July 13, 2016, in response to the call of Associate Professor Mohammad Shahab Uddin Sir of the Department of Management, Chittagong University, a group of young people started the journey with the joint efforts of ‘1/24 Social Movement’. The ‘1/24 Social Movement’ has been working successfully for the last two years, giving priority to education, health, environment, poverty and youth development.
The activities of the organization have not stopped with the Covid-19 novel Corona virus. The ‘1/24 Social Movement’ has started taking effective steps since the beginning of the corona virus.
At the beginning, 1/24 Social Movement distributed improved masks and hand sanitizers and soap to about 500 pedestrians, rickshaw pullers and lower middle class families, as well as food items to 220 families.
And so far the organization has provided grants of around Rs 1,51,175 in various forms among 110 families.
The ‘1/24 Social Movement’ has been working tirelessly to alleviate poverty.
The 1/24 Social Movement has taken the responsibility of the whole family including building a house for the homeless children of B-Baria and providing sewing machines to Sukhi’s mother.
To alleviate poverty, the ‘1/24 Social Movement’ has so far provided sewing machines to 4 widows and helpless women and handed over rickshaws to an elderly person.
The 1/24 social movement is bearing the cost of education of dreamy children and teenagers.
The organization has taken the responsibility of tuition fees including admission of 8 students in the school.
In addition, the 1/24 Social Movement has distributed one-year educational materials to 120 students at the beginning of the year as part of the government’s free textbook distribution.
The 1/24 social movement is working tirelessly to maintain the balance of the environment. 1/24 Social Movement has planted 39,300 saplings in the entire Chittagong division in 2019, starting from the activities of removing nails from the trees standing in the shade of Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
In addition to regular cleaning campaigns, the organization has been observing regular ‘World Animal Day’ for the last two years, which the organizing body has published on their website.
The organization has also been active in protesting the deforestation of the Amazon, ranging from human chains to environmental and wildlife rights.
In addition to the training program on afforestation in collaboration with the Bangladesh Forest Research Institute, the Tree Water Supply Trolley has been provided by the 1/24 Social Movement.
In addition to taking charge of medical services for the distressed, it has been organizing annual free medical camps since the inception of the ‘1/24 Social Movement’. In February of this year, 1/24 Social Movement conducted a medical camp in Sandwip with 5 doctors and 3 veterinary specialists in memory of the great language martyrs.

The ‘1/24 Social Movement’ has so far provided free medical care to a total of 70 people and 50 animals, and has so far provided medical care to 8 poor and helpless people.
Also Free Blood Camp, is regularly donating blood by members.
In addition to training programs for youth development at different times of the year, 1/24 Social Movement has been conducting various activities including meetings and seminars on various national days including Victory Day.
